Providing space for emotional and spiritual healing.

Marcia MacKillop

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW

Marcia treats individuals of all ages, with a special focus on teens and young adults who are adjusting to life transitions and experiencing heightened anxiety, depression and elevated mood symptoms.

Marcia holds masters degrees in theology and social work, which lends to her therapeutic approach of treating clients from an emotional and spiritual perspective. Her counseling approach is supportive, as clients explore their needs without judgement or advice.

“In Solidarity” implies being with clients during their time of need. It has roots in Liberation Theology, where liberation came from within a group of people that were “oppressed” without power of another group taking over or doing for them. In this context, “In Solidarity” means that we will be on a journey together, exploring solutions to different ways to make changes that benefit each client, individually.

Marcia utilizes CBT, Mindfulness and Solution Focused therapies. Building therapeutic rapport is essential to the success of therapy. In Solidarity encourages exploration of spiritual practices in the healing process, which gets overlooked in a holistic approach to mental health treatment. Marcia is a seasoned clinician with over 13 years of experience.

Life is messy. Love, hurt, grief, loss and sadness are part of the circle of life. Engaging with a professionally trained therapist, who is neutral to your experience, can be lifegiving. If you want to begin challenging your old behaviors into a comprehensive approach to healing and wellness, contact Marcia today.
